Stainless Steel

About Stainless Steel
Although stainless steel is much more resistant to corrosion than ordinary carbon or alloys steels, in some circumstances it can corrode. In normal atmospheric or water based environments, stainless steel will not corrode as demonstrated by domestic sink units, cutlery etc. The passive layer on the stainless steel can be attacked by certain chemical species. The chloride ion is the most common of these and is found in everyday materials such as salt and bleach.

Planting in Stainless Steel
Firstly ensure you have adequate drainage thus avoiding prolonged contact with harmful chemicals. This not only means beneath your planter but inside it too! Your planter should not come in to contact with water that may contain concentrated levels of corrosive elements. Avoid using dense soils that may plug drainage in your planter. Using an liner will prolong the life of your planter.

Cleaning your Stainless Steel Planter
To periodically clean the planters use a non-abrasive cloth and warm water with or without a gentle detergent. We recommend Ambienté ™ Stainless Steel Water Feature Cleaner. Always wipe with the directional grain of the steel. After washing, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly. Salt water air and other chemical may result in small brown spots appearing on the surface of the planter. The spots can be easily removed by gently rubbing the surface of the steel, in the direction of the brushed finish, with a Scotch-Brite pad.

A stainless steel planter will provide you with years of use and enjoyment without rust.

Fibreglass (& Resin)

About Fibreglass
Fiberglass is an immensely versatile material due to its light weight, inherent strength, weather-resistant finish and variety of surface textures. It is stronger than many metals by weight and can be molded into complex shapes and colours of your choice.

Planting in Fibreglass
Good drainage is paramount to a thriving plant and your planter will arrive with predrilled drainage holes. You MUST state at the time of the quote request if you do not want these in your planter. To help aid drainage we recommend using broken pieces of pots at the bottom.

Cleaning your Fibreglass Planter
Your fibreglass planter will require little maintenance but there are few things you can do to keep it looking like new. Wash with warm soapy water and rinse. Do not wash with steel wool or an abrasive cloth. You can wax your planter for a high gloss finish but wash very well first.

Fibreglass planters are available in any RAL colour, and can be designed to your exact specifications.

Whether you are looking for indoor or outdoor planters, contemporary or traditional, small or large, we are here to help you realise your ideas and make them come true.
